Your first stop in the Yadkin Valley begins in Elkin

The Yadkin Valley Heritage and Trails Visitor Center is located at 257 Standard Street in downtown Elkin. It houses the Yadkin Valley Chamber of Commerce offices and board/meeting room, restrooms and showers for North Carolina MST hikers, a display area filled with brochures filled with local and regional information for businesses and tourists, National Park Service displays about the Overmountain Victory Trail, and soon it will be filled with information panels telling the story about the region (including viticulture) surrounding Elkin.
This visitor center is located in Elkin's historic downtown (which is located on the National Register for Historic Places) one block south of Main Street. The center also offers an electric charging station for visitors on site, with use that is free of charge while you explore the downtown.
The Elkin Vine Line is also based at the Center and operates Friday - Sunday, or by appointment. The Vine Line offers a hopper service for visitors to utilize, rather than driving themselves to area wineries. To learn more about the service, visit their website at elkinvineline.com.
