When Trails are Your Thing...

If you are looking for a quality lifestyle where you can walk on trails, ride your bikes, enjoying paddling on a river without the 4-hour drive to the water, Elkin might be the place for you! Many move to Elkin because of the connection to the outdoors, clean water, clean air, and lots of things to do outside year-round.

Elkin trails will eventually be linked to Stone Mountain State Park with approximately 24 miles of off-road trails, and the Elkin Valley Trails Association (EVTA) is also currently grooming trails from Elkin to Pilot Mountain State Park. 

Elkin is on the NC Mountains-to-Sea Trail route. Here is a link to the MST Segment 6 portion that takes hikers thru Elkin and onto Main Street  https://mountainstoseatrail.org/segment/6/ . Kayak / Canoe

Elkin is situated along the Yadkin River, and has river access in downtown's Crater Park, so many here enjoy kayaking and canoeing throughout the year with 5 local outfitters to assist with rentals or transportation needs.
