Larcenies of Lawnmowers
The Elkin Police Department needs assistance from the public in solving two recent larcenies. Lawnmowers valued at $10,800 were taken in two thefts from local businesses.
On Tuesday night, April 15, 2009 at approximately 12:55 a.m. a lawnmower valued at $4000 was taken from Price Lawn and Equipment on North Bridge Street. Some time on Monday night on April 20, 2009 lawnmowers valued at $4000 and $2,800 were taken from Lowes Home Improvement Center on C.C. Camp Road.
Two white males in their thirties are suspected. Suspect #1 is approximately 5'9" 170 lbs with sandy or light brown hair and goatee/mustache. Suspect #2 is approximately 5'11" 200 lbs with dark brown hair and beard. The suspects were in a green or blue Chevrolet Astro Van. View the photos below for further on the suspects and vehicle.

Counterfeit $20 Dollar Bills
| Elkin Police Department is investigating numerous incidents of merchandise purchased with counterfeit $20 dollar bills. We encourage merchants to utilize the security features in US currency to prevent the passing of counterfeit bills. Please refer to the US Secret Service Website for more detailed information on security features.
