Residential Truck Rental

Home Departments Public Works Town Truck Rental

The Town of Elkin allows its residents to rent the Town Dump truck for disposal of household goods or oversized brush. The rental is an over night rental and the truck is delivered to the residence between 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm and picked up the next morning at 8:00 am. If a truck is rented on a holiday or a weekend it is picked up on the next work day.

Truck Rental fees are put on the water bill.
Brush Truck Rental $30
Household Goods Truck Rental $70

Loads cannot be co-mingled with household and brush.

Trucks rented for household goods cannot be loaded with roofing materials, hazardous materials, batteries, white goods, paint cans or tires.

Rentals are subject to availability by the Town of Elkin.

Truck rentals are for residential use only and are not meant for commercial use or for contractor use.

Residents assume all liability for damage to truck.

Trucks need to be loaded so that the tarp can go down and the tailgate can be closed

Truck rentals can also be arranged at the Water Counter (Town Hall) and the Town Garage (125 Carter Mill Rd)
